Obverse Die Crack 2006-2

This three-segment die crack is contained within the ring. The two left segments begin near the B and H in ELIZABETH and angle sharply toward the core. The right segment, 2-3 times longer than the others, begins at the edge of the core near the G in D·G·, crosses the lower leg of the R in REGINA and contacts the E in REGINA.

This is a progressive die crack and is found in two varieties:

  • CT06-2a: Primary segment only and it does not cross into the ring.
  • CT06-2b: The cracks in the core are present. A slight trace of the crack at the G in the legend may be present.
  • CT06-2c: All cracks are present including the ones at the I and G of the legend.

This die also features a light Obverse Die Clash OC4.

Obverse Die Crack CT06-2 is commonly paired with Reverse Die Crack F1.
